KELLI WHITE Kelli White graduated from the University of Missouri–Columbia in the spring of 2009 with a degree in magazine journalism and minors in Spanish and art history. Within journalism her interests are writing, publishing and design. As part of the LemonAid Fund team, Kelli will be fine-tuning the Fund’s annual report for 2009, writing and editing grants and putting together promotional materials for the Fund’s 10-year anniversary. At Mizzou Kelli was taught that a journalist has a specific social role to fulfill as the public’s liaison to happenings across the globe, which gives them an incredible responsibility – each must balance accuracy with intrigue, make people think without telling them what to think, evoke emotion while still remaining objective. Kelli is thankful to have the opportunity to help raise awareness about the needs of those living in Sierra Leone and to use her journalistic training to make a difference. She looks forward to taking an active and creative approach to her work with the LemonAid Fund. Outside of journalism, Kelli has an enthusiasm for the outdoors and spends her summers as a nature camp teacher for elementary-aged children through the St. Charles Park District in St. Charles, Ill. This fall, she will continue her work with the SCPD and teach wetland and creek ecology and forestry as a field trip guide for local elementary school students. |

CARYN FIELDS Caryn is a member of the Colgate University class of 2008. With a concentration in social justice, she is double majoring in Peace and Conflict Studies and Religion. Upon graduation, she hopes to work in the field of human rights to bring the dream of peace one step closer to the eyes of children. In the summer of 2005 Caryn worked on the "Mile of Peace" project to educate and spread the hope of peace to children all around to world through artwork. In the summer of 2006 she brought those skills to the children of Sierra Leone while spending 8 weeks with LemonAid Fund. During the school year she is enjoying college life and keeping herself busy; skiing, snowboarding, giving tours, part of the student Senate, teaching a freshman leadership group (GATE 101), volunteering around the community and more.
